Also active in Life business, UnipolSai holds a strong position in the national ranking of insurance groups in terms of direct income, totalling €11.7 billion, of which €7.9 billion in Non-Life business and €3.8 billion in Life business (2018 figures). It operates through the largest agency network in Italy, with 2,753 insurance agencies and 5,615 sub-agencies located across the country. UnipolSai Assicurazioni is a subsidiary of Unipol Assicurazioni S.p.A. and, like the latter, is listed on the MTA market of the Italian Stock Exchange.
It also provides direct insurance through Linear Assicurazioni, health insurance through the specialised company UniSalute, and has a strong presence in the bancassurance channel thanks to the joint ventures created with leading Italian banks. Moreover, the agreement for the transfer of Arca Vita from Unipol to UnipolSai was finalised in 2018 (Arca Vita and Arca Assicurazioni distribute Life and Non-Life policies through the banking groups Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna, in which the Unipol Group holds a 19.998% stake, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, and other banks). The operating scope of Unipolsai also includes service providers specifically dedicated to car servicing and repairs, and the management of “black boxes” for the Auto and Non-Auto insurance.
UnipolSai operates in Serbia through the second-largest local insurance company, DDOR Novi Sad.
The Real Estate Sector
UnipolSai is a leading operator on the Italian market in terms of assets. It owns properties of great historic, symbolic and architectural value, which it is reviving as part of the Urban Up project focused on studying and renovating these important buildings.
The company is also a major player in the Italian hotel industry with the brand Gruppo UNA, as well as in the agricultural sector with Tenute del Cerro and in port management with Marina di Loano.
